Be Bold

Everything about this tumor the second time round was different than the first. I was in a different place, my faith had grown even further and my knowing of the peace and presence of God was much greater. I felt more prepared this time round but there were moments of sadness and despair that would hover.
One afternoon after moping around the house, knowing I wasn’t in a good place I facetimed my older sister. I said, ‘V, I need help.’ She started to encourage me but got interrupted by my then 2 year old niece. She pops her head in the frame and says, ‘God is your shepherd Nay Nay’
She then goes on to recit:
‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1 verse 9’
She jumps of the couch and starts to sing:
‘Be bold, Be strong for the lord your God is with you, Be bold, be strong for the lord your God is with you, I am not afraid, I am not dismayed because I’m walking in faith and victory, I’m walking in faith and victory for the lord my God is with Nay Nay.’
I’m left in floods of tears, my little niece says exactly what I needed to hear. It built me up and put a new form of strength in my heart and spirit, to be bold and courageous, to rest in the faithfulness of God and see my victory unfold.
She had been learning this verse in Sunday School for the past couple of weeks and was used many times by God at the perfect moment.
God always knows what we need and when we need it, his timing is always perfect and speaks right to the heart. I soaked up this verse and used to as my shield.
